Rentro ("we", "us", "our") operates the Rentro platform and mobile applications. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our websites and use our services.
We collect information in several ways:
We use the information we collect for:
We may share your information with: (a) other users where needed for a booking, such as name, rating, selected profile information, booking details, and counterparty contact details after the platform's unlock conditions are met, (b) payment processors and banks to complete transactions where card payments are enabled, (c) insurance, legal, or safety partners where you ask us to assist, where required by law, or where needed to protect the platform from fraud or abuse, (d) law enforcement if required by law, and (e) service providers who assist us in operating our platform.
Driver licence documents, identity documents, and selfies are not shown publicly. They are used for verification, fraud prevention, support, and dispute handling by authorised Rentro administrators.
We use private storage, access controls, server-side validation, and audit trails to protect identity documents, selfies, booking records, messages, contact details, and payment-method snapshots. Access to sensitive documents is limited to authorised administrators and service providers with a need to review them.
However, no security system is completely impenetrable. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your experience, analyse usage patterns, and remember your preferences. You can control cookie settings in your browser, though some features may not function properly if cookies are disabled.
Our platform may contain links to third-party websites. This Privacy Policy applies only to our services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external websites.
We retain account, booking, contract, payment-status, verification, and safety-report records for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, meet legal and tax obligations, prevent fraud, handle user support, and enforce platform rules. Verification documents and selfies should be retained only while needed for identity, fraud-prevention, safety, or legal reasons, then deleted or de-identified where practical.
If you request account deletion, we will delete or de-identify information that is no longer required. Some booking, contract, payment, message, audit, and safety records may need to be retained where required by law, for tax/accounting records, for fraud prevention, or to protect the rights and safety of users.
